H.D. Prakashanand Saraswati, a renown and honored Vedic scholar, sheds light on the concept of “blessings” in the following excerpts from his writings. I found this extremely enlightening in an age where many of us are asking God for what we want, instead of trusting that He is omnipresent and all-knowing, thus knows better than we do what we truly need.
“Blessings are never given. They are received. You cannot force anyone to bless you. The blessing is already there. When your heart is receptive, you receive the blessing automatically. Blessing is one single power of God, called the power of Grace. The power of Grace is the same in Shree Krishn, the same in Radha Rani, the same in God Shiva and all the forms of God and in God-realized Saints.
A Saint may be physically far from you, but God is next to your heart. The power of Grace is there, just next to you but to attract that power of Grace you have to do something. How do we invoke the blessings? Just by submission. You don’t have to ask for anything. A mother knows when to feed her baby. If you simply surrender to God and Saint the blessing is there without asking.” To learn more about SPS you please see his books / writings at Amazon.
