Question & Answer with Swami Prakashanand Saraswati..
Question: what do you mean when you say that our love for Krishn should be selfless?
Answer: Having selfless love means not having any worldly desire or demand from Krishn, just simply desiring to receive His Love and Vision.
Question: After we return home from the Intensive, how do we maintain our devotional feelings that we experience in Barsana Dham?
Answer: Firstly, it depends on how deeply you have taken the Intensive. It’s like the flow of Ganga river. (Gangaji is supposed to purify.) Suppose you want to bring some Ganges water to your home, you have to have a pot to hold the water. If you only have a small pot you can only take that much water, but if you have a large pot you can take more. The Ganges river is flowing, but it depends how much water you can take in your vessel. So the Intensive is also like that. It depends how seriously you have taken the Intensive. A devotee must know that he comes to the Intensive to receive the maximum benefit, and that he must maintain it throughout the year until he comes back. If you take this opportunity seriously, it may change your life forever. If you don’t take it seriously, then it may slowly fade out. You can increase or decrease the effect. It is in your hands.
If you keep on rejuvenating devotional thoughts, they keep on increasing. If you keep on adding worldly thoughts, devotional thoughts keep on decreasing. Al- ways make use of the present. Keep Radha- Krishn in your subconscious mind and do your work with your conscious mind. So you are doing both simultaneously. If you understand you have to maintain your devotional attitude you can have the best benefit from the Intensive.
Question: When I try to meditate on the form of Radha-Krishn, sometimes material things come in my mind. What should I do?
Answer: Don’t pay any attention. If you pay attention, that particular thought persists. You see, you have uncountable lifetimes being in the world. So it takes time to settle the mind in devotion. It is best to simply ignore worldly thoughts and keep doing your devotions.
Question: Can you describe what Krishn’s flute looks like?
Answer: Krishn has many kinds of flutes. Some are made of pure gold, some of pure silver and some of bamboo. Some flutes are shorter and some are longer. All His flutes are decorated on both sides with precious gems, diamonds and pearls and they are all Divine.
Conclusion: Swami Prakashanand Saraswati’s Q&A session highlights the essence of selfless devotion to Radha-Krishn, the significance of preserving spiritual fervor from practices like the Intensive, and strategies to overcome distractions during meditation. Through these insightful answers, Swami Ji guides devotees to strengthen their bhakti and elevate their ever-increasing love for the Divine.
